Compatibility PCRE wrapper module.

This is a convenience module that is identical to the latest supported PCRE version, if available.

Note

Use with caution; the syntax in PCRE1 and PCRE2 have slight differences, and code that uses this module should be prepared to encounter either.

Note

Prior to Pike 9.0 this module was the only PCRE module and was always PCRE1.
